SL Carpentry & Construction is a family-run carpentry and construction company, established in 2017 and based in Crawley, West Sussex.
Founded by Sean Doyle, a trained carpentry and joinery specialist, the business is built on a strong foundation of traditional craftsmanship. Time-honoured skills such as scribing, puttying, and hand-cut mitres are combined with modern techniques to deliver high-quality kitchens, bathrooms, and refurbishment projects.
We work with homeowners and property developers across Surrey, West Sussex, and South London, providing a reliable, detail-focused service on projects of all sizes. As the company continues to grow, our focus is increasingly on larger-scale works, offering a professional, end-to-end building service with the same care and precision that define our carpentry roots.
Our reputation is built on quality workmanship, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering results that stand the test of time.
The short version
Sean began his journey straight from school, spending three years at college followed by a two-year apprenticeship, laying the foundation for his craft. After a decade of refining his skills and attention to detail, SL Carpentry & Construction was established in 2017.
It’s that experience and care that you notice in the finer details — the reason a well-built kitchen or staircase just feels right the moment you run your hand along it.
What started as a one-man joinery service has grown into a trusted, close-knit team. Today, we take on a wide range of projects, from bespoke kitchens and bathrooms to garden rooms and full property refurbishments.
We work closely with private homeowners, architects, and local property developers, and have recently completed multiple full renovations for our strong network of repeat clients.
At every stage, our focus remains the same: quality craftsmanship, honest work, and results built to last.
A small firm with a lot of miles on it.
“Proper carpentry, honest pricing, a clean site. That's the whole thing. Everything else is noise.”— Sean Doyle, founder
